HB 2691    RELATING TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF    TIA, WAM
HD 2       DRUGS
(SB 2638)  Reduces jail time for first offense of driving under
        the influence of drugs by conforming the penalties
        with those provided for driving under the influence of
        intoxicating liquor. Increases fines and decreases
        jail term for third offense. Applies to all cases
        (first, second, and third offenses) (Say (BR).

HB 1777    RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS                    TIA, CPN
HD 2       Requires the public utilities commission to authorize
(SB 2307)  no more than the proposed service described in
        applications for either certificates of public
        convenience and necessity for common carriers and
        permits for contract carriers (Hiraki).

HB 1776    RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS                    TIA, CPN
HD 1       Specifies factors that the public utilities commission
(SB 2306)  must consider in whether to grant a certificate of
        public convenience and necessity. Makes unauthorized
        activity ground for denying subsequent applications
        (Hiraki).

 
SCR 102    URGING THE UNITED STATES NAVY TO PROVIDE A    TIA, WAM
        BRIEFING ON THE FUTURE WORKLOAD PLANS FOR PEARL HARBOR
        NAVAL SHIPYARD (Kawamoto).

HB 2618    RELATING TO REPEAT INTOXICATED DRIVERS    TIA/JDC, WAM
HD 2       Amends the law relating to administrative revocation
(SB 2959)  of driver's licenses to include revocation of all
        motor vehicle registrations issued to a driver who has
        been convicted of a previous violation of driving
        under the influence of intoxicating liquor or
        habitually driving under the influence of liquor or
        drugs (Say (BR)).

HB 1759    RELATING TO TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT           TIA/JDC, WAM
HD 2       Extends length of the three-year photo red light
(SB 2952)  imaging and photo speed imaging detector project for
        two more years. Allows the use of photo technology
        systems to identify drivers in violation of designated
        uses of high occupancy vehicle lanes. Authorizes the
        department of transportation to retain and pay
        contractors for the project. Makes other housekeeping
        changes (Hiraki, Goodenow, Takai, Catalani).

indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.
